FAC’s Affirmation of Faith

I. The Word of God: We believe in the Bible as the Word of God, written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and inerrant in its original manuscripts. The Bible is our true, complete and final authority in faith, life, and ministry.

II. The Trinity: We believe in one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons: the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

III. God the Father: We believe in God the Father, maker of Heaven and earth. His is sovereign over all and foreknowing of all things to come. He is the essence of love, and He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ.

IV. Jesus Christ: We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born of the Virgin Mary. He led a sinless life and was crucified, died, and rose the third day, ascended to heaven. He sits at the right hand of the Father, interceding for His people; and all who believe in Him are set free from sin and death and made alive to God in Christ.

V. The Holy Spirit: We believe the Holy Spirit is a divine person, fully God, sent by the Father to indwell, guide, teach, comfort, and empower Christians. The Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, righteousness and judgment.

VI. Regeneration: We believe God created humanity in His own image. The first humans sinned resulting in separation from God– a physical, spiritual, and eternal death. Therefore, all human beings are born separated from God and spiritually dead. We believe all who accept and trust Jesus Christ by faith are born anew by the Holy Spirit and thereby become children of God. They are new creatures, delivered from condemnation and receive eternal life.

VII. The Church: We believe the Church is the body of Christ– a spiritual body of all regenerated persons — of which Jesus Christ is head. There is one church universal, composed of all those throughout the world who acknowledges Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. We believe in the local church that consists of believers in Jesus Christ that are commissioned to proclaim the message of salvation in Christ to a lost world, and called to meet together for worship, prayer, teaching, communion, baptism, and fellowship.

VIII. The Christian Life: We believe that a Christian should live for the glory of God. As God’s children we should love and trust him with all of our hearts, and in turn, love our fellow man. God’s children experience life changing transformation through His power that leads them to live righteously in Him.

IX. The Ordinances: We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ has committed two ordinances to the local church: baptism and the Lord’s Supper.
Baptism is the biblical testimony of the professed believer in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe that Christian baptism by immersion in water is a public identification with Jesus Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection.

The Lord’s Supper is the commemoration by believers of Christ’s death and a reminder, through the bread and juice, of the Savior’s body and shed blood. Those who partake in the Lord’s Supper should be professed believers, walking in fellowship with our risen Lord.

X. The Last Things: We believe in the personal return of our Lord Jesus Christ. Upon His return there will be a bodily resurrection of the righteous and the unrighteous. The Christian will be raised to fellowship with God and everlasting joy. The lost will be condemned to judgment and eternal separation from God.
